

James Hay, British and born in 1963, has been involved with Asian financial markets since 1986 with BZW and Kim Eng Securities in London, and with Arab-Malaysian Securities, TA Securities and Caspian Securities in Malaysia, where he has lived since 1993. Since 1998, James has primarily been investing fundamentally in Asian markets for himself and, since 2004, for the fund.
Simon trained as a securities analyst and was the former head of research for BZW in Singapore and Country Manager for Jardine Fleming in Malaysia.
He is currently a director of Octtane Pte Ltd and a founding investor in Spaceport Singapore. Outside of Asia, Simon is a Freeman of the City of London, and a Freeman of the Worshipful Company of Goldsmiths. He is a past president of the Singapore Rowing Association and a past Chairman of the Riding for the Disabled Association of Singapore.
A keen sportsman, Simon has won two UK national rowing championships, was a member of the UK national lightweight rowing squad for two years, represented Singapore at the Asian Rowing Championships as a lightweight sculler, won a British national dragonboat championship, won a bronze medal for Britain at the world dragonboat championships in Hong Kong and has competed in the Whitbread (now Volvo) Round the World sailing race.
Vinchel, an Indonesian National now resident in Singapore, has a Master’s degree in Corporate Finance from Georgia State University. His responsibilities include company analysis and stock selection.
Much of his time is spent visiting companies both in Singapore and the region. His fluency in the Hokkien dialect as well as Indonesian and Malay languages is an asset, especially when English is often not the first language of some of the companies’ managements we encounter.
Zubaidah handles operational matters for Pangolin Investment Management. Previously she has worked for Siemens and Deutsche Bank AG, Malaysia.
